James Dean’s Glenfiddich Adventure

James Dean found himself in the enviable position of winning the Glenfiddich Artist in Residence scholarship for 2022.

By immersing himself in and amongst a working distillery for 6 months, nestled in the Speyside capital of whisky production, Dufftown, he used the visuals, atmosphere and the ‘Angels share’ for inspiration to create a stunning body of work.  

Old oak staves from barrels, the metal binding rings, offcuts from pallets, and in fact anything used in the process of making whisky was recycled into the creative pieces of sculpture you see before you.
